Our Story

At Wooga, we are very proud of the diverse, creative and friendly environment we have established. Each of our Woogas plays an important role in our success as a company and in shaping our culture. We create joyful experiences that awaken our players’ desire to see what happens next. Based in the heart of Berlin, with over 300 employees from around the world, we work together to create high-quality casual games with engaging stories at the core of the experience.

We are looking for an Intern Game Artist who will contribute to the creation of high-quality content for our game June’s Journey. This is your chance to work on Wooga’s most successful title, which combines strong storytelling with high polish and exciting gameplay.
One of the key tasks in ensuring the success of a game is providing a steady stream of fresh content for our players to enjoy. You will help ensure that the game has top-notch content for the best possible in-game experiences.
During your time at Wooga, you will get a first-hand look at creating world-class content for a highly successful game. Working in industry-standard tools such as Blender and Photoshop, you will use your creative and organizational aptitude to play a dynamic role throughout the entire process of developing new art content. You’ll work together to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and refine designs, ensuring a cohesive and vibrant game environment.
We value strong soft skills, including effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to receive and incorporate feedback gracefully.
You will be working with a team of fellow game artists, producers, game designers, and writers who will provide an ideal foundation for a thriving career in games.

This is a full-time (40h/week) 6-month paid internship.

What you will be doing

  • Contribute to the creation of buildings, vegetation, and decorations in the isometric perspective of June’s Journey island.
  • Collaborate with our talented team of writers and designers and provide feedback on iso sets.
  • Work with our world-class writing team to bring the game’s story to life.

About you

  • Ideally, you have an educational background in art, illustration, or a related field (be it from University or self-taught).
  • You have a love and passion for mobile games (ideally casual or decoration games!).
  • You have a mindset of constant learning and welcome feedback.
  • You understand and enjoy an iterative design process.

Please note: Research has shown that some under-represented groups in the gaming industry (e.g., women) tend to apply only if they meet every single requirement. Here at Wooga, the desire to learn and the willingness to solve problems are more important to us than your experience on paper. We encourage you to apply even if you do not think that you tick all the boxes – thinking outside of such boxes and embracing the diversity of mindsets and backgrounds is what we believe makes our teams thrive.

At Wooga, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who works here or with us, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion (or lack thereof) and game preferences. Be yourself, we like you that way!
