Your role with us
As Engineering Manager, AI Solution Engineering, you lead a team of 5+ engineers who get our AI agents into production at our customers: Python-based integrations with SAP and other ERP systems, REST and SOAP APIs, data pipelines, and the configuration and rollout of our models inside complex enterprise environments (in some companies this role is called a 'Forward Deployed Engineering Manager'). You own technical quality, architecture decisions, hiring, and the career development of your team. You combine technical depth with genuine customer focus, and you lead a team that operates at the intersection of our product and our customers' business-critical processes.
You spend roughly half of your time on people and tech leadership, and the other half hands-on with strategically important customers. You stay close to the code, close to the product, and set the technical standards of your team from the inside, a setup for experienced engineering managers who want to lead without losing touch with the technical work. You work closely with our CTO (dotted line), report to our Head of Customer Success & Implementation, and are the voice of the AI Solution Engineering team in the leadership circle.
Your responsibilities
Leadership & Team
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5+ AI Solution Engineers, including regular 1:1s, career development, and performance feedback
- Own hiring and team growth: define profiles, run interviews, and bring in additional AISEs in 2026
- Set the team's ways of working and quality bar: onboarding, implementation playbooks, quality criteria, handover to Customer Success
- Define and track the team's success metrics (e.g. time-to-value, customer go-live rate, implementation health)
- Be the voice of the AISE team in the leadership circle and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success
Hands-on & Customers
- Work directly on strategically important customer projects, from technical integration (ERP connectivity, API, import/export) through to go-live
- Spot recurring patterns across customers together with Product & Engineering, and translate them into product improvements or new use cases
- As tech lead, ensure quality and scalability: code reviews, architecture decisions, technical standards across the team
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers pre- and post-sales, and ensure data privacy and compliance
Your profile
We're looking for a professional team player who thrives in an agile environment where we share knowledge openly and push each other to deliver the best possible outcome.
What you bring:
- 3+ years of direct people-management experience for engineers, solution engineers, or a comparable technical team, with a clear track record of developing senior talent
- You've been an engineer yourself and are technically deep enough to run code reviews, debug ERP integration issues, and discuss architecture with customers (active Python skills required, ideally experience with API integrations and ML/AI-adjacent systems)
- Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software with complex technical implementations (API integrations, ERP systems, or similar)
- Experience building processes, playbooks, or enablement for implementation, solution, or forward-deployed teams
- You love the combination of leadership and hands-on work, and want to stay strong in both
- Fluent English and German (C1+)
