Overview

In this role you will lead the API platform practice, ensuring architectural coherence and engineering excellence across product streams. You will set standards, craft paved paths, and stay hands-on in API design and governance to enable compliant applications by default. You’ll coach engineers, participate in hiring, and collaborate with IT and security teams to maintain stability. This role supports the Forum’s mission to build world-leading digital collaboration platforms and data tools for global stakeholders. You will drive platform rituals and architectural decisions that scale across teams, delivering impact at global scale.

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Author and maintain platform craft standards and ensure architectural coherence across product teams
  • Define paved paths and skills enabling engineers to build compliant applications by default
  • Own API design standards (REST/GraphQL/Event-Driven), OpenAPI documentation, versioning and deprecation, API gateway, and service catalog
  • Surface and resolve cross-cutting technical debt across product streams
  • Run platform rituals: weekly office hours, technical demos, RFC reviews; coach engineers across teams
  • Serve as technical-bar interviewer in hiring; collaborate with Engineering Managers on hiring
  • Own deployment processes and CI/CD tooling; document infrastructure specifications and coordinate with IT & ITS for stability and security

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • University-level education in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience with API management and shipping/operating at scale
  • Proven track record setting technical standards and guiding architecture decisions across multiple teams
  • Strong API design and governance expertise (REST, GraphQL, gRPC or event-driven), OpenAPI, versioning and governance practices
  • Proficiency in at least one major API/web development language/framework (Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, Go)
  • Familiarity with modern infrastructure, CI/CD tooling, deployment processes, security and stability practices
  • Experience with agent-assisted development and building reusable paved paths/tools
  • Experience interviewing and setting the technical bar in engineering hiring
  • Fluency in English with strong written/verbal communication
