Job Description
We are looking for a Sales Trader – Environmental Commodities (German Market) based in Frankfurt, Germany.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio within the German environmental commodities market and build long-term commercial relationships with producers, suppliers, traders, and obligated parties. The role is ideal for a driven commercial professional who thrives in commodity trading, negotiation, and business development within the renewable energy and sustainability sector.

What will you do?
- Develop and manage a portfolio of German clients and counterparties within the environmental commodities market.
- Broker and trade environmental products including biomethane certificates, THG/GHG quotas, renewable fuels, and environmental certificates.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the German market.
- Establish new commercial relationships through proactive business development activities.
- Negotiate and close commercial transactions with clients and counterparties.
- Monitor market developments and regulatory changes affecting environmental commodities.
- Work closely with trading and operations teams to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Build long-term relationships with producers, suppliers, traders, and obligated parties.
- Develop deep market expertise within environmental commodities and renewable energy products.
Requirements
- Residing in or willing to relocate to Frankfurt, Germany.
- In possession of a valid EU work permit.
- Native-level German speaker with fluent English.
- 2–3 years of experience within environmental commodities, renewable energy markets, commodity brokerage, or energy trading.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Biomethane, THG/GHG quotas, Biofuels, Guarantees of Origin (GOs), or Renewable Certificates.
- Strong commercial mindset with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently generate business opportunities and close deals.
- Comfortable with cold outreach, networking, and relationship building.
- Entrepreneurial, ambitious, and target-driven personality.
- Existing network within environmental commodities or renewable fuels is highly preferred.
- Interested in working in a fast-paced trading environment.
