As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you work directly with customers to turn complex problems into working solutions in production. You’re an engineer first. You write code, build integrations and prototypes, and see them through to deployment. You also sit with customers’ technical and business teams to understand their needs and shape what we build next.
This role suits you if you like being close to the customer and want your work to have visible impact, rather than handing requirements to someone else.
What you’ll do
- Work with customers to understand their challenges and design technical solutions.
- Build, deploy and maintain production-grade solutions, including integrations, data pipelines and AI or agent-based applications.
- Prototype quickly, then harden what works for real-world scale and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in customer environments.
- Run technical workshops and present architecture decisions to engineers and stakeholders.
- Feed what you learn from the field back to Product and Engineering to improve our platform.
- Document solutions so they can be reused across customers.
What you bring
- [4+] years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong hands-on coding background.
- Strong Python (or another language such as TypeScript, Go or Java) and experience with APIs, cloud platforms ([AWS / Azure / GCP]) and distributed systems.
- Experience building and shipping production systems end to end, not only prototypes.
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, in English. [German is / is not required.]
- Comfortable with ambiguity, with customers who change their minds, and with owning the outcome.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites [up to X%] within Germany and [Europe].
Nice to have
- Experience with LLMs, RAG, agents or MCP in production.
- A customer-facing engineering background, such as solutions engineering, consulting or a startup founding role.
- Experience in a regulated sector such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive or the public sector.
