Digital Manufacturing Software
scale-up based in Zurich, we are looking for a
Principal Platform Engineer
to define and evolve the cloud platform powering mission-critical applications used by global manufacturing and engineering organisations.
This is a senior technical leadership role where you'll help shape the long-term platform strategy, influence engineering standards, and build the cloud‑native foundations that enable product teams to innovate at scale.
What You’ll Be Working On
Defining the long‑term architecture and technical strategy for the company's cloud platform
Building scalable Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) that improve engineering productivity
Leading Infrastructure as Code, automation, and platform engineering initiatives
Driving platform reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence
Collaborating with product and engineering teams to support the delivery of cloud‑native applications
Mentoring senior engineers and establishing platform engineering best practices across the organisation
Evaluating emerging technologies and helping guide strategic technical decisions as the platform scales globally
Experience Required
8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps
Extensive experience operating Kubernetes in large‑scale production environments
Strong expertise with AWS or Azure cloud platforms
Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools
Experience influencing technical strategy and leading cross‑functional engineering initiatives
Passion for mentoring engineers and building high‑performing engineering cultures
Nice to Have
Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
Service Mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or Grafana observability platforms
FinOps and cloud cost optimisation expertise
Experience supporting industrial software, IoT, digital twin, or Industry 4.0 platforms
