Product and DevOps Engineer

Xprizo is looking for a versatile Product and DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This hybrid role combines Product Development with DevOps and infrastructure ownership and operations.

You will build scalable, cloud-based software in C#, including integrations with a variety of Payment Processors, while also owning and operating the Azure-based infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational health of the product.

This is an ideal role for an Engineer who enjoys working across the stack – delivering value to users and ensuring the systems they rely on are reliable, secure, and performant.

Key Responsibilities

Product Engineering

• Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to build, support and maintain our product
• Design and implement new product features using C# and ASP.NET Core
• Build RESTful APIs, and integrations
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Test your own work

DevOps & Infrastructure

• Build, operate, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure – utilizing the likes of Azure networking and storage, and services such as Azure Database for MySQL flexible server and Azure Cache for Redis
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with BitBucket Pipelines
• Automate deployment, scaling, and testing wherever possible
• Monitor system performance, uptime, and cost
• Respond to incidents when needed
• Troubleshoot, identify root causes of, and remediate complex technical issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with C# and .NET
• Demonstrable experience with Azure cloud services
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• Adept at communicating ideas and working in a team
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to context switch while still delivering on commitments
• Knowledge of software design patterns; Able to grasp and quickly become productive in an existing design
• Very fluent in C#, with knowledge and experience of associated frameworks and technologies such as ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core
• Fundamental knowledge of Frontend development; HTML, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript; understands how browsers work and performance best practices in modern web apps
• Able to work with relational databases, MySQL or PostgreSQL (MySQL preferred); high-performance, in-memory data store technologies such as Redis; message broker technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience building, integrating, and testing REST APIs, and proficiency with associated tools and technologies such as Swagger, Open API Spec, and Postman; Experience with Azure App Service highly preferred
• Knowledge of security standards, encryption methods, and related best practices, as well as modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token (JWT)
• Well versed in scripting with PowerShell and Bash
• Comfortable working with JS tools and ecosystem, like NodeJS, NPM, Yarn, ESLint
• Has a passion for quality, and knowledge of what it takes to ship high quality code
• Proven capability to maintain product quality through unit testing and end-to-end testing processes, using frameworks such as MSTest, NUnit and xUnit (xUnit preferred)
• Keen on best engineering practices
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, BitBucket Pipelines preferred
• Demonstrated experience building, maintaining, and supporting high-volume, low-latency cloud-based systems
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK stack
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application and infrastructure layers
• Able to quickly address production incidents and implement measures to avoid recurrence
• Bonus points for experience in web development with Angular; Infra as Code, ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform; experience with real-time communication technologies, SignalR and Firebase
• Prior experience with Docker and Kubernetes would be a plus, but is not a must
• FinTech experience in areas such as payment gateways, payment aggregators, card issuing and acquiring, and merchant integrations, would be awesome
