What this role is about
The focus is on the further development and operation of the PAYBACK Marketplace, which forms the central foundation for product, merchant, and marketplace functionalities. In this role, you will ensure the platform's technical integrity, scalability, and stability, and assume technical leadership for architecture, integrations, incident management, and technical quality. You will act as the central technical contact person for the cross-functional team in the Online Shopping domain, as well as for external technology partners.
Your daily work routine
- You will be responsible for the technical aspects of our PAYBACK eCommerce Marketplace in the Online Shopping domain – from architecture and stability to performance, security and operation.
- You ensure high technical quality through architecture, design, and code reviews, and make sure that standards and non-functional requirements are met.
- You ensure that business-critical marketplace functionalities run reliably – including operational readiness, monitoring, and incident and problem management.
- You are the central technical contact person for product, business, external partners and technology service providers.
- You will guide and manage technical integrations within our marketplace ecosystem.
This role suits you well if you…
- You have several years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Solutions Architect or in a comparable role.
- You have sound knowledge of modern cloud, API and integration architectures.
- You have experience with e-commerce, marketplace or platform solutions, ideally with Mirakl and Commercetools.
- You securely manage external service providers and technology partners
- You have several years of experience with architecture and code reviews.
- You have experience in operating business-critical systems as well as in incident and problem management.
- You think analytically, work in a structured manner, and proceed in a solution-oriented manner.
- You are a strong communicator, you confidently engage stakeholders, and you enjoy working hands-on.
