About the Position
We are looking for an Accounting & Tax Compliance Supervisor to join our Finance team. You will lead the accounting and tax team, ensure the accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet across all our subsidiaries, and oversee tax compliance in coordination with our external advisors. You will also be a key point of contact for our external auditors, making sure audits are completed efficiently and within the agreed timelines.
How you will contribute
As our Accounting & Tax Compliance Supervisor, you will validate the accuracy and correct classification of all accounting inputs recorded in the P&L and balance sheet for every group subsidiary. You will lead a timely and accurate monthly and year-end close, and prepare the statutory financial statements of the group entities.
You will oversee the tax compliance of all entities, coordinating directly with external tax advisors to ensure every filing is accurate and on time. You will also coordinate the annual external audit: preparing documentation, answering auditors' requests and following up on their recommendations.
You will work closely with the Finance Manager and the CFO, with regular interaction with external auditors, tax advisors and banks.
As a member of this team you will
-
Team leadership: lead the accounting & tax team (3 people plus external advisors) to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and full compliance with local and international tax obligations.
-
Full accounting cycle: oversee journal entries, accruals, provisions, and month-end and year-end closings.
-
Balance sheet integrity: perform and review account reconciliations (banks, intercompany, fixed assets, accruals, payables and receivables) and resolve discrepancies promptly.
-
Tax reporting and compliance: prepare, file and control direct and indirect taxes (VAT, including OSS and intra-community operations, corporate income tax and withholdings) for all entities, in collaboration with external tax advisors.
-
Tax position: monitor the group's tax position and ensure the timely recovery of tax refunds.
-
Tax authorities: support responses to requests and inspections from tax authorities.
-
External audit coordination:
-
Act as a point of contact for external auditors during annual audits.
-
Prepare PBC (Prepared by Client) lists, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
-
Review and book audit adjustments, and follow up on management letter recommendations.
-
-
Statutory reporting: prepare the annual financial statements of the group entities and support their approval and filing.
-
Internal controls and documentation: maintain accounting policies, close checklists and a clear audit trail to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
-
Process optimisation and automation: evaluate and streamline existing processes, and implement tools and systems (NetSuite, automations) to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
-
Treasury support: assist with bank reconciliations, payments and banking relationships for multiple companies.
Who will thrive in this role
These are some of the traits we would want you to bring to the table:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
-
4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax compliance or similar roles.
-
Audit experience: 1-2 years in external audit (Big Four or mid-tier firm), or solid experience working with auditors from the company side, will be considered a valuable asset.
-
Tax & compliance knowledge: working knowledge of Spanish and European tax regulations (VAT, OSS, Corporate Income Tax, withholdings).
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
-
Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
-
Interest in, or experience with, AI tools to automate and streamline accounting processes will be highly valued.
-
Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Ability to work with large datasets and multiple entities at the same time.
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
-
Excellent communication skills and experience liaising with auditors, tax advisors and banks.
