Telematics Application Specialist (m/f/d)

Our Transformation department is looking for its Telematics team, its future collaborator as a Telematics Application Specialist.

As a Telematics Application Specialist at Yanmar CE, you will play a crucial role in leveraging telematics data to drive innovation and efficiency across our compact equipment machines. This position requires working collaboratively with cross-functional teams from different areas and departments, bridging telematics and engineering to enhance machine applications, customer experience and aftermarket services. You will be responsible for conducting industry analyses, documenting key processes, and ensuring that all telematics applications adhere to industry standards and regulations.

This role demands construction industry expertise. The role will focus among others on developing predictive maintenance applications and building advanced diagnostics services, ensuring our equipment adheres to the highest standards of performance and reliability. Your insights will help shape the development of use cases that maximize the potential of telematics data, supporting our training programs and providing operational support to ensure our products meet client expectations.

This role will require a deep understanding of client and end-customers utilization patterns of compact equipment machines in the market. With a global scope, the Telematics Application Specialist is expected to help adopt the benefits and applications of telematics within each sales region (EMEA, NA, JP and AOLA), providing support to regional sales and aftersales teams to build packaged offers and drive the adoption of digital services.

Aufgaben

Data Analysis & Insight Generation:

• Analyse telematics data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights, focusing on mapping these insights directly to machine applications and aftermarket services to drive product and service improvements.

Industry Analysis & Market Research:

• Conduct industry analysis, including competitive analysis, evaluating pricing strategies, customer satisfaction and feedback analysis etc.,
• Solicit and analyse feedback from clients and customers, collaborating closely with Aftermarket and Sales teams,
• Collaborate with the Digital Product Manager in defining business requirements.

Industry Expertise & Use-Case Development:

• Apply industry knowledge to leverage telematics in collaboration with product teams to develop use-cases and refine existing ones based on telematics data insights, with a focus on services around jobsite productivity / safety and energy usage.

Cross-Functional Team Collaboration:

• Act as the bridge between telematics data and various teams including engineering, aftermarket and product management ensuring seamless integration of data insights into all phases of product lifecycle and customer interaction,
• Moderate QA interactions between IT and other Yanmar departments to ensure quality of our Telematics solution.

Aftermarket Support & Training:

• Support aftermarket service improvements and contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for both internal staff and clients.

Predictive Maintenance Development:

• Collaborate with internal departments to develop services around predictive maintenance models that forecast equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs, minimizing downtime and repair costs.

Advanced Diagnostics Services:

• Collaborate with engineering teams to introduce advanced diagnostic capabilities, integrating analytics to troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively,
• Incorporate advanced diagnostics capabilities into tangible services and applications for both internal and external client use by introducing tools and processes that enhance the ability to quickly and accurately diagnose and resolve equipment issues, improving service responsiveness and efficiency.

Process Documentation:

• Ensure all telematics applications comply with industry standards and regulations, documenting processes.

Qualifikation

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in aftermarket services and machine application , with a good understanding of how telematics can enhance these areas,
• Experience in Telematics or a related field with a focus on leveraging data and software to drive business services would be valuable,
• Able to bridge topics with engineering and foster collaboration between technical and engineering teams to enhance product offerings,
• Relevant experience in developing or implementing systems , overseeing the full implementation lifecycle for system delivery,
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to breakdown complex data sets related to machine applications,
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills , capable of leading cross-functional initiatives and conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders,
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines,
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Business Analysis or a related field,
• Proficiency in English
