About our client

For our client, a worldwide leading auto parts supplier from China, which is specialized in design, manufacturing and sales of exterior auto parts, we are looking for a CAD Designer/ Product Designer(full-time position).

Duties and responsibilities:

• Designing vehicle trims in 2D and 3D using CATIA and/or NX, taking into account development specifications and quality standards
• Constructive support of the component throughout the product development process
• Adapting, analyzing and optimizing drawings and designs
• Guiding and checking CAD development work of external service providers
• Responsible for product measurements
• Close cooperation with the German and Chinese project managers regarding design and project coordination in the area of development
• Support the engineering department at China with regard to customer-oriented design work
• Support the teams of our Chinese parent company in the development of new technologies and train the teams in production technologies

Qualifications and knowledge:

• Completed technical studies in the field of development, design, mechanical engineering or similar disciplines or comparable education with relevant experience
• At least two years of experience in construction / design / development in the automotive sector with Siemens NX or CATIA V5
• Extensive design, process and material knowledge, experience with trim would be desirable. Strong experience with plastic product and process development. Experience with stamping, deep-drawing and extrusion parts
• System knowledge and user experience of specific OEM systems and requirements (preferably VW; BMW; Daimler)
• Business fluent in German and English
• Willingness to travel
• An open and intercultural attitude; experience in working with China is desirable
