About our client

For our client, a worldwide leading auto parts supplier from China, which is specialized in design, manufacturing and sales of exterior auto parts, we are looking for a Product Development Engineer (full-time position).

Duties and responsibilities:

• Leading design and development activities for crash management systems and other structural parts projects from concept phase to SOP
• Building the bridge between our R&D Center in China and European OEM’s in related topics
• Research market technology trends and process innovations related to structural Aluminium parts
• Leading innovation projects with both external and internal cooperation partners

Qualifications and knowledge:

Background:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, industrial engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieur) and/ or respective experience within the automotive industry
• Over 3 years R&D working experience in design and development of car body structures, preferred in Crash-Management-Systems
• Proficient in a CAD-System (preferred CATIA or Siemens NX) Knowledge of Aluminium and related processes
• Knowledge of body structures
• Strong network in the VW group

Ability:

• Self-motivation and willingness to keep learning
• To work independently and self-responsibly
• Effective communication skills by facing complex environments
• Confident in working in cross-cultural teams
• To adapt to market changes and deal with complex and multi-dimensional challenges
• Business fluent German and English required (Min. B2)
• Experience with FMEA and other quality management tools preferred
• Willingness to occasional business trips
