THE ROLE
Lead the creation and growth of our data engineering team, including data engineers and analysts. Provide technical mentorship and support professional development in data engineering. Collaborate closely with the product team to define and prioritize initiatives, finally breaking them down into tasks for the engineering team.
Lead the design and implementation of data engineering solutions, covering the complete data lifecycle including ETL pipelines, AI and ML technical capabilities. Plan and conduct internal workshops on topics like data strategy, culture, and architecture.
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in (business) informatics, (business) engineering, economics with a computer science focus, or equivalent education.
- Proven leadership skills and a proactive work approach, being able to motivate people and drive achievements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels and departments of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Several years of experience in strategy, architecture, and development of cloud-based data platforms, particularly with GCP, Snowflake or similar technologies.
- Proven knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD) as well as proficiency in Python.
- Experience in developing test concepts for data platforms.
- DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, microservices architecture, Google DataProc, DataFlow, Apache Beam, RedPanda, and/or similar tools as well as additional languages like Go or Java are a plus.
- Fluent English skills.
