International Literary Properties (ILP) acquires, invests in, and manages literary properties worldwide and is looking to hire a Literary Manager, reporting to the VP, Publishing. The position will oversee a diverse range of authors across age groups and genres with the support of members of the ILP team to maximize opportunities for the authors on the storied lists of ILP's owned backlist agencies.
The right candidate will have the ability to self-direct, take initiative, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment where employees often work remotely. Knowledge of contracts is essential in support of our best-selling and classic authors. Curiosity, adaptability, and organizational skills are necessary. Experience with Mystery, Romance, Horror, and genre fiction in general, and AV rights would be welcomed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing backlist and some frontlist sales
- Finding opportunities for unexploited rights
- Collaborating with ILP team members in support of our authors
Key Attributes:
- Developed industry contacts
- Deal and contract negotiation skills
- Adept with Microsoft Office and rights management software generally, comfortable learning new systems as needed
- Excellent communication skills
