You will be responsible for developing and managing key accounts, understanding market dynamics, and identifying new opportunities. You will represent Ypsomed and its core strengths, develop competitive commercial offerings in close collaboration with Product Areas, and ultimately close deals. Travel activity to India, SEA, and MENA is approximately 4-8 weeks per year, distributed across the year.
Account & Business Development Manager for India, MENA, SEA – 80–100% Ref. No. 8044 Location: Burgdorf | Hybrid
Your main tasks
Develop and grow business with existing customers, understand their decision making processes, and building long-term strategic partnerships
Identify and acquire new customers and systematically expand the company’s presence, maintaining a structured opportunity pipeline
Act as the primary interface between customers, management, and product areas responsible for product platforms, ensuring alignment across functions
Prepare quotations, respond to RFPs, and lead contract negotiations in collaboration with internal stakeholders
Monitor trends in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors to identify and capitalize on strategic business opportunities and market insights.
Present our platforms at international trade fairs, conferences, and industry events while actively engaging with potential partners and collaborators
Your profile
At least 5 years of international experience, including proven work in India and comparable emerging markets (SEA/MENA), with deep understanding of local business culture and decision‑making dynamics
Industry experience in MedTech, Biotech, or Pharma is highly desirable, along with a good understanding of pharmaceutical modalities (e.g., biologics, small molecules) and related delivery systems
University degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; an executive degree (e.g., MBA) is an advantage
Strong communication skills, analytical mindset, and a proactive “can‑do” attitude, with the ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization
Very good written and spoken English; additional Indian language skills (e.g., Hindi, or other regional languages) are a strong plus. Conversational German is an advantage
