YOUR MISSION:

As a Senior Assembly, Integration and Test Engineer at Yuri, you will take technical ownership of the assembly, integration and testing of electromechanical payloads for spaceflight, including ISS missions and future space platforms. You will ensure that payloads are assembled, integrated and verified in accordance with applicable requirements, procedures and spaceflight standards, with a particular focus on NASA SSP 57000 and related payload safety and test requirements.

You will combine hands‑on engineering with technical leadership: planning and coordinating AIT activities, defining test strategies and procedures, leading test campaigns, resolving technical issues and ensuring that the resulting hardware and documentation are ready for flight. You will work closely with systems engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, project management, suppliers and external test facilities to bring complex payloads from development into flight‑ready hardware.

YOUR TASKS:

• AIT Leadership:Take technical ownership of Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) activities for electromechanical spaceflight payloads from development to flight readiness.

• Test Strategy & Execution: Define test concepts, write detailed procedures, and execute functional, performance, and environmental tests.

• Campaign Management: Lead test campaigns, coordinate external test facilities and suppliers, and ensure safe test execution.

• Troubleshooting & Resolution: Analyze test results, troubleshoot hardware anomalies, and drive the resolution of non‑conformances.

• Verification & Documentation: Ensure strict traceability between requirements, test procedures, and results. Maintain AIT documentation and configuration control.

• Hands‑on Hardware: Perform hands‑on assembly, integration, and modification of flight/flight‑like hardware, ensuring compliance with NASA SSP 57000 and payload safety requirements.

• Mentoring: Mentor less experienced engineers and improve Yuri's internal AIT processes and lab infrastructure.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education:Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or similar.

• Experience: Several years in AIT of complex hardware, ideally spaceflight payloads, with a proven track record of leading test campaigns.

• Systemic Understanding:Strong grasp of complex electromechanical systems, interfaces, and requirements-based verification.

• Standards: Familiarity with NASA (SSP 57000, payload safety) and ECSS AIT standards.

• Practical Skills: Highly proficient with lab equipment, measurement systems, and hands‑on mechanical/electrical assembly.

• Attributes: High degree of ownership, structured execution, and the ability to drive technical decisions independently. Fluent in English (German is a plus).
