What We’re Looking For

The Senior Supplier Development Engineer role focuses on the management of Joint Design Manufacturer (JDM) and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) suppliers.

The candidate should possess a strong background in printer manufacturing or similar product industries, with expertise in process engineering and robust quality management skills.

This position requires the ability to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned tasks while ensuring supplier performance and alignment with organizational standards.

  • Lead Quality system audit and Lean Six Sigma audit and drive continuous improvement
  • NPI qualification: Drive cross functional activities in the supply chain for new product quality and manufacturing readiness, by means of PPAP, CTQ, lean, and process sign off procedure
  • JDM/EMS/ODM/component supplier management, covering end to end manufacturing quality management and tier 2 component quality management
  • Supplier quality scorecard maintenance and drive for supplier continuous improvement with systematic approach
  • Drive sustaining project technical operational issues including material, process, fixtures, equipment and etc.
  • Lead critical issue triage meeting across global Zebra operation team
  • Drive for CTQ (Critical to Quality)/I4.0 implementation at supplier site to standardize and optimize process through FMEA/Control Plan/MSA/CPK/SPC/Error Proofing
  • Utilize DOE, FMEA and other industry standard tools to proactively identify and address process risks and optimize process parameters
  • Cost saving through lean six sigma projects
  • Coordinate communication with supplier and internal cross function team for supplier PCN review and approval
  • Have the knowledge of existing technology on product roadmap and production.
  • Key player to contribute to lesson learned database, like TDM, BPM, and etc.
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programs
  • In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the SDE job description, it is preferred that the candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes specific to printer production.

Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and Six Sigma is essential for effectively identifying and resolving supplier quality issues.

Furthermore, the candidate should have the capability to perform detailed investigations into problems related to material defects and assembly errors.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 5 -7 years work experience Education and training in quality disciplines is required
  • Problem solving and analytical ability
  • Full knowledge of job related policies and procedures as well as corporate policies and procedures
  • Six Sigma training or similar certification / training preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
