SAP Consultant – Process Integration (m/f/x)

Your Role

As an SAP Consultant – Process Integration (m/f/x), you will be part of the internal IT organization for the SMT business unit. In your daily work, you assess sometimes complex business requirements with regard to their feasibility and relevance for implementation in SAP, develop solution designs, perform functional testing and provide application support to the business departments.

You act as a trusted advisor to the SAP-using business functions: you not only work on and implement concrete requirements, but also advise your colleagues on process-related questions. Depending on the business needs, this results in a varying mix of process adjustments, master data requirements, user interaction design and technical implementation expertise.

For the upcoming SAP S/4HANA migration, you see yourself as a technically oriented interface both to the business departments and to external implementation partners.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements from the business.
• Review the deliverables of external service providers.
• Conduct functional tests.
• Perform system customizing.
• Ensure business continuity.

Your Team

The SMT IT organization acts as an internal provider of IT services and support for the business functions and production sites of ZEISS. Due to the strong and expected continued growth of the SMT business unit, new SAP-based process requirements are constantly arising.

In particular, we support the upcoming Bluefield migration to SAP S/4HANA and are therefore expanding our established consulting and support team with several experienced SAP specialists.

Your Profile

• You hold a university degree in (Business) Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or a comparable field.
• You have several years of experience, e.g. in SAP consulting or as an SAP key user, and you are used to managing multiple business topics in parallel.
• You are solution-oriented and committed to ensuring that your consulting and solution designs provide sustainable value to the business functions that use them.
• You understand the difference between stated customer requirements and the actual underlying business needs, and you can moderate and reconcile these differences across SAP modules, even in demanding integration scenarios.
• Your solid, cross-module SAP knowledge enables you to design implementable end-to-end processes and to translate them into solutions that are suitable for the respective business departments.
• Ideally, you have experience with SAP customizing, and you are familiar with debugging – preferably gained and applied in a production-focused / manufacturing-oriented environment.
• Relevant experience gained in at least one SAP S/4HANA migration project completes your profile.
• You present yourself confidently and have strong communication and engagement skills.
• You have very good German and English language skills (both spoken and written).
