Your mission
As a Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Engineer, your mission will be to bridge the gap between innovative design and efficient production processes. You will ensure that components and products are designed with manufacturability in mind, leveraging cutting-edge technology to optimize production efficiency and quality.

Your Role
You’ll be part of a team that shapes the future of 3D-printed footwear. Your role will focus on evaluating, optimizing, and transitioning components from design to market-ready products. Collaborating closely with our design, development, and production teams, you will take a hands-on approach to ensuring our designs are not only innovative but also manufacturable. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing components for manufacturability and identifying optimization opportunities.
- Proposing design changes that enhance manufacturability and streamline production.
- Identifying and resolving material or design issues that could hinder efficiency.
- Developing and implementing strategies for cost-effective component production.
- Selecting and evaluating appropriate manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection molding.
- Ensuring quality standards in mass production and continuously identifying areas for improvement.
- Creating technical documentation, manufacturing guidelines, and inspection plans.
- Supporting material and process selection to improve manufacturability.
- Conducting feasibility studies and reviewing prototypes for production readiness.
- Collaborating with external manufacturing and supply chain partners to ensure seamless industrialization.
Your Skills and Experience
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in evaluating and optimizing component manufacturability.
- Expertise in additive manufacturing (3D printing) and traditional manufacturing processes like CNC machining, sheet metal forming, and injection molding.
- Proficiency in CAD software for component analysis and design optimization.
- Solid knowledge of material science and its impact on manufacturability. Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented mindset.
- A team-oriented work style with excellent communication skills. A collaborative approach to working across departments to improve manufacturability.
- Proven experience in transitioning prototypes to market-ready products while managing manufacturing complexities.
