Job Description
Do you want to make an impact on an extensive API ecosystem used by 100.000+ customers? Are you passionate about building a scalable and reliable API platform loved by developers and internal engineering teams?
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and play a key role in leveling up the API platform powering Zendesk! We offer 1500+ public endpoints to our customers (and many more used internally), and we want to streamline common capabilities (e.g., rate-limiting, monitoring, load shedding, pay-as-you-go, etc.) across the ecosystem.

What you’ll be doing

Ship code to production and improve the experience of millions of Zendesk users!

Design and implement components of the API platform.
-
Help craft the future of the Zendesk API ecosystem.

Implement changes at the platform level, increasing the efficiency of multiple teams.

Develop solutions protecting our systems from abuse and misuse.

Work across organizational boundaries to integrate services focusing on releasing quality code and observability.

Collaborate with development teams to investigate sophisticated performance and reliability issues spanning large distributed systems.
What you bring to the role
Required:
-
Experience shipping features and capabilities that meet production standards.
-
Experience working with large codebases.
-
Proven experience with at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Java, Lua, and Go.

Strong understanding of web-based API technologies (REST, GraphQL, SSO, Token Management, OAS, etc.).
Preferred:
-
Experience working with Nginx and its operational aspects.

Experience with observability for large distributed systems.

Experience with API-Gateway technologies.

Experience with CICD technologies such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, and Github actions.

Experience with Kafka and streaming technologies.

Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker.
The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł154,000.00-zł230,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration – while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
