On behalf of our client we’re looking for an experienced PHP Team Lead who combines strong technical expertise with people leadership skills.

This role is a true hybrid: part technical leadership, part team leadership. You will shape architecture and engineering standards while also guiding, mentoring, and supporting a small development team.

Your Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Design and evolve scalable PHP architectures using modern frameworks
• Define technical standards and promote Clean Code principles
• Guide architectural decisions and engineering best practices
• Act as senior technical authority for complex challenges

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approx. 6 developers
• Support career growth, knowledge sharing, and team collaboration
• Help shape team processes and improve development workflows
• Foster a positive, high-performing engineering culture

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in object-oriented PHP development
• Experience as Senior Developer, Technical Lead, or similar role
• Initial team leadership or people management experience
• Deep understanding of modern PHP frameworks and software architecture
• Experience working in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) is a plus
• Fluent German and English
