1 November 2027 or by agreement; Application deadline: 30 November 2026; first interviews will take place in December 2026 and January 2027
Your role
Leading further development of the institute with over 30 highly motivated faculty and staff
Managing the institute together with the heads of the four research centers: Centers for Health Economic Research, HTA and Health Economic Evaluation, Health Care Management, Health Services Research; and the Center for Education & Services
Together with senior team members responsible for generating third party funding through research and executive education (external funding ratio approximately 80 percent)
Contributing to teaching and research in one of the topical areas of the institute as a full professor
Your profile
Health economist with a PhD in Economics, Health Economics, or a closely related Social/Health Science discipline with a strong publication history in leading peer-reviewed journals
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive strategic development and identify new research opportunities (thinking out of the box)
Strong, proven leadership capabilities with exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Strong and proven track record in acquiring substantial third-party funding and competitive research grants
Experience in developing and positioning executive education programs
Established, active, and influential professional network across national and international healthcare and academic sectors
Deep, nuanced understanding of the Swiss healthcare system, its regulatory framework, and current policy challenges
Extensive experience directing and performing policy-relevant, applied health economic research
Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor across diverse audiences and academic levels (fluent in German and English)
