We are seeking a
dynamic and results-driven Sales Director
to lead and grow our
Battery Energy Storage & Renewable Energy Solutions . This strategic role focuses on building ZTE own echo-system in the Austrian energy industry, identify the strategic opportunities, develop key customer and partner relationships, participate in tenders, and align our technical and commercial solutions with market needs. You will collaborate with internal sales, engineering, and solution teams to drive business growth in Austria - with focus on
Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Energy Storage, Utility-Scale Energy Storage and Hybrid Energy Systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
enterprise and public sector sales , a deep understanding of Austrian's energy market, and a proven track record of
winning strategic projects , navigating public tenders, and building long-term B2B relationships that drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead business development efforts across Government in Austria , identifying high-impact opportunities in public infrastructure, utilities, transport and large private sector organizations.
Analyze and understand the Austrian energy storage market
landscape, track local energy policies, market trends, subsidy mechanisms and competitor activities, and identify key growth opportunities.
Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy
tailored to promote our energy solutions including C&I, utility-scale BESS, solar PV and hybrid energy systems.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships
with key stakeholders, including telecom operators, government, public institutions, utilities, project developers and EPC partners.
Understand customer requirements
and translate them into tailored energy solutions.
Drive the full sales cycle
- from opportunity discovery and technical consultation to proposal development, tender management, contract negotiation, and successful delivery.
Monitor energy sector policies , funding programs (e.g. EU/local renewable energy funds), and market trends to anticipate needs and craft proactive solution proposals.
Collaborate closely with
technical, pre-sales, delivery, legal, and marketing teams
to tailor offerings and ensure compliance with public procurement rules and enterprise-grade requirements.
Prepare and present account plans, forecasts, and performance reports
to senior regional leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Ensure full compliance with company policies , public sector procurement standards, and all relevant legal and contractual frameworks.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in the energy industry, with at least 3 years in a sales management role or business development function.
Skills:
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and presentations skills. In-depths knowledge of renewable energy products and local energy market. Fluent English skills are a must and additional language of the CEE regions is a plus.
