Actuary & Senior Data Scientist - Non-Life EME CoE (m/f/d) in Zürich

Overview

In this role you advance reserving and analytics for Europe and the Middle East by using advanced analytics, AI and automation. You act as the IT liaison within the EME Reserving Centre of Excellence, drive data-improvement initiatives, and educate actuaries on AI and data tools. You will help ensure secure, stable, and efficient reserving processes while fostering cross‑team collaboration. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to shape AI-enabled reserving in a dynamic, international setting.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Develop, automate, and optimize tools with AI capabilities
• Serve as the main IT contact for the centre to resolve technical issues
• Lead data-improvement projects to improve accessibility, quality and usage of data
• Review data transformation and reserving processes for efficiency, stability and security
• Educate actuarial colleagues in AI tools and relevant programming languages

Zentrale Anforderungen

• Strong programming skills in Python or R
• Experience developing AI solutions and AI agents (Claude Code or similar)
• Familiarity with Power BI, DAX and Power Query is a plus
• Previous data-science experience in the insurance industry
• Team-oriented, proactive communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English; additional European languages advantageous
• Master’s degree in a relevant field and actuarial qualification or willingness to pursue one
