As Head of Marine – Europe, you will lead the underwriting strategy and performance for Zurich’s Marine portfolio across Europe, steering profitable growth and portfolio optimisation. You will collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Distribution and external partners to deliver strong customer outcomes while maintaining regulatory and governance standards. Your role sits at the intersection of market insights, data-driven decision making and leadership of a geographically dispersed team. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Set and oversee the Marine underwriting strategy across Europe in alignment with business objectives
- Own portfolio performance using data, metrics and market insights to identify opportunities and risks
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, distribution dynamics and regulatory developments and adjust strategy accordingly
- Be accountable for financial results of the European Marine portfolio
- Collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Distribution and internal stakeholders to achieve objectives and strong customer outcomes
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, market partners, reinsurers, regulators and rating agencies
- Participate in regulatory, compliance and governance activities relevant to the line of business
- Develop underwriting capabilities across Marine and focus on talent development, succession planning and recruitment
- Support underwriting training and ongoing development across the region
- Drive continuous improvement of underwriting tools, processes and operational efficiency
- Provide guidance on complex deals and escalate as needed to empower underwriters
- Lead and contribute to underwriting reviews to identify trends and implement actions
