Cyber Security Engineer (Defence)

We are working with a leading engineering and technology consultancy supporting complex security-critical projects across the German defence sector.They are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with a strong background in system hardening, infrastructure security and BSI standards to work across highly secure IT environments.The RoleHardening Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments in line with BSI and Cert-BW requirementsDeveloping and implementing security policies, procedures and hardening measuresAutomating security and hardening processes using Bash and PowerShellSecuring and managing virtualised environmentsHardening Active Directory environmentsConfiguring and managing firewalls and network security technologiesConducting security assessments and auditsIdentifying vulnerabilities and implementing remediation measuresWorking closely with technical teams, project stakeholders and customers on wider security strategyYour ProfileExperience within IT Security, Cyber Security or System AdministrationStrong knowledge of Linux RHEL and/or Windows environmentsExperience with BSI security standards and hardening requirementsBash and/or PowerShell scripting experienceExperience working with virtualised environmentsKnowledge of Active DirectoryExperience with firewalls and network security, ideally CiscoVery good German language skillsWillingness to undergo security clearanceWillingness to travel within GermanyThis is a strong opportunity for a security professional looking to work on technically challenging projects within the German defence sector, combining hands-on infrastructure security with wider security engineering responsibilities.Know someone who would be a perfect fit?Germany, Remote Salary: up to 85,000 DOE permanentHBS2Holly Bellisholly@zyncgroup.io
