PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS), organizationally part of Global Finance & Administration, allows SAP to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness as well as the quality of the finance processes while delivering global end-to-end process standards. Within GFSS, the members of the Center of Expertise for Controlling Governance are experienced Controllers or Accountants who are setting up & implementing group wide guidance on business processes, like Cost & Revenue Allocation (incl. pooling), Cost Based Activity Charging (CBAC), Transfer Pricing, accruals and End2End P&L. In your position as (Senior) Finance Operations Specialist you will interact and collaborate with Controlling, GFSS process delivery teams, other Lines of Business (HR, Facility Management, IT, etc) and local representatives like Local Chief Accountants and Local Tax Managers.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
The main task is the enforcement of the established Cost Allocation Framework jointly with counterparts in Tax, Group Controlling and respective Business Area Controllers. The growth plan of SAP in the Cloud business as well as more mature business areas requires the analysis and adoption of existing cost allocations as well as the development of new logic to enable business steering. These shall result in new concepts for cost allocation, jointly developed with Tax, Group Controlling and respective Business Area Controllers. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the orchestration of the charging operations of the subsidiaries, the standardization of the same and related documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your global governance role will include:

  1. Provide guidance & documentation on all kind of charges at SAP and coordinate the interaction between Controlling, Tax and Accounting.
  2. Define clear rules on how to set up allocations to comply with the necessary requirements (legal, tax, Cost of Sales).
  3. Fulfill a trusted process advisor and consultancy role by setting up close partnering with internal customers especially in Business Area Controlling and respective local Finance and Admin functions.
  4. Analyze, design and roll out new procedures and tools for allocations together with other stakeholders in the CoE.
  5. Ensure a high-quality operation, implement checks and controls to enforce the global guidelines and policies for allocations.
  6. Constantly focus on process improvements with the goal to increase process automation, accuracy and efficiency. You are responsible to coordinate required process adoptions, enhancements and accompany the related IT implementations.
  7. Support cross functional projects managed in the team in cooperation with other functions (e.g. controlling process manager or Simplify Steering).

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required Skills
– Degree in Business Administration or similar, preferably with emphasis on Controlling /Finance
– Knowledge of SAP Controlling processes
– Self-managed working style with high customer orientation
– High level of self-confidence to enforce guidelines and policies governed by you and the team
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Innovative thinking, challenge complexity and show agility to change
– Fluent in English (written & verbal)

Preferred Skills
– Project management skills and experience in driving complex and cross functional projects

WORK EXPERIENCE
– Min. 3 years of work experience in Accounting / Controlling or close to Controlling functions
