Job Description
Owens Corning Nonwovens GmbH is part of Owens Corning’s Europe Composites Non Woven Business. The plant operates several production lines and handles trading goods. Owens Corning Nonwovens GmbH Plant employs a total of 70 staff.
The Plant Controller provides financial leadership to the Brueggen Manufacturing Leaders and partners with the site leadership team on all financial aspects of the site’s activities. This role supports our strategic pillars: Growth of Gypsum and capital efficiency.
The position involves managing processes related to financial planning, analysis, reporting, and forecasting for the site, including costs, working capital, and Capex. The role reports hierarchically to the Site leader and dotted line to the EU Manufacturing Finance Leader, ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOX.
Main Responsibilities
Safety
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental standards for an injury-free work environment.
- Apply the OC Safety Toolkit to drive improvements.
Business Planning and Forecasting
- Develop and maintain financial models supporting operational and strategic plans.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to prepare financial forecasts.
- Ensure data integrity and quality.
Reporting and Analysis
- Communicate results effectively to management and finance leaders.
- Analyze variances, perform risk analysis, and lead monthly closing processes.
Driving Profitability and Capital Efficiency
- Implement KPIs, provide analytics, and monitor business results.
- Manage capital spend and investment analysis.
Financial and Operational Controls
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance.
- Lead and coach management on internal controls and processes.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to optimize EBIT and share best practices.
Talent Development
- Create a talent development environment and provide finance training to non-financial leaders.
Security Oversight
- Coordinate site security functions and audits.
Job Requirements
Prerequisites
- Strong financial acumen, manufacturing costing knowledge, and P&L understanding.
- Proven leadership and growth in previous roles.
- SAGE and SAP knowledge is advantageous.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years in a similar manufacturing finance role.
- Leadership experience in manufacturing or commercial settings.
- Experience in matrix organizations.
Personal Profile
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
- Effective communication skills.
- Computer literacy, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP/SAGE.
- Business acumen and leadership qualities.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt workload across sites.
