Are you ambitious enough to want to understand how an international hotel company is really built and operated?
1912 Hotels GmbH is a growing European hotel company with an ambitious development strategy. We are looking for an exceptional Management Trainee to work directly alongside our CEO and CFO at our Head Office in Hamburg.
This is not a traditional management trainee programme.
You will not spend your time following a fixed rotation programme or working within one department. Instead, you will work closely with the CEO and CFO across the full spectrum of responsibilities involved in running and developing a growing hotel company.
You will be exposed to strategic decisions, operations, finance, acquisitions, development projects, commercial performance, negotiations, organisational development, owner relations and many other aspects of the business.
The tasks will vary significantly—from analytical and highly detailed assignments to important strategic projects involving senior management, owners, investors and business partners.
For the right person, this can be the beginning of a career towards a senior leadership position within 1912 Hotels.
The Role
We are looking for a person with high potential, strong intellectual curiosity and a genuine passion for the hotel industry.
You will report directly to the CEO and CFO and work closely with both throughout your training period. Your role will be deliberately broad. You will learn by being involved in the real work of the company and by taking increasing responsibility as your knowledge, experience and capabilities develop.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Analysing the financial performance of a hotel
- Preparing a business case for a new hotel project
- Working on an acquisition or lease opportunity
- Analysing market, occupancy, ADR and profitability data
- Supporting negotiations with hotel owners, landlords and business partners
- Preparing material for management and board meetings
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Working with hotel General Managers and operational teams
- Supporting the development of commercial strategies
- Analysing investment and development opportunities
- Helping to solve operational and organisational challenges
- Preparing presentations and reports for senior stakeholders
- Working on strategic projects across several countries
- Researching new markets, competitors and potential investments
- Taking responsibility for completely new problems that need to be solved
The variety is intentional. You will learn how the different parts of a hotel company connect—and how decisions made at Head Office ultimately affect performance at property level.
Your Development

Your Background
- Professional experience in the hotel or hospitality industry
- A university degree or equivalent academic background, ideally in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of German
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- A willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Previous experience in hotel operations, finance, commercial functions, consulting, business development or a hotel management trainee programme would be advantageous

Our hotels and projects are located across Europe, and the position therefore involves regular travel to our properties and project locations.
