Tasks

For talented individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset and the courage to shape the future, our 18‑month Start up! Trainee Program provides an environment in which you can learn, grow, and develop your full potential.

You will gain broad insights into our organization while being encouraged to step outside your comfort zone, explore new topics, and take ownership of your professional development.

Take ownership of your career! You will complete five project assignments. Your first assignment will be within HR. After that, you can individually select your remaining assignments from opportunities across the entire Deutsche Telekom Group.

Step outside your comfort zone! After your first assignment, you decide which areas you would like to explore in greater depth. Throughout the program, we encourage you to challenge yourself and discover new fields within Deutsche Telekom. A broad network of colleagues and experts will support you along the way.

Expand your network and experience the trainee community! Fridays are reserved for Magenta Friday. All trainees come together to work on strategic and innovative growth topics beyond their individual project assignments. Trainees collaborate in different teams to organize events, drive their own development, and contribute to social initiatives.

Go international! One of your three‑month assignments will take place abroad. You decide which country and city you would like to experience.

Understand our business! Take the opportunity to experience Deutsche Telekom’s operational business first‑hand. During our Service Days, you can gain direct insights into how Deutsche Telekom interacts with its customers. Choose from experiences such as spending a day in customer service, visiting a Telekom Shop, or spending time at one of our service centers. You will see first‑hand how we work every day to turn customers into fans.

Profile

You have successfully completed a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a comparable field. We welcome candidates with all academic qualification levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral degrees.

• Strategic Focus: You are passionate about strategic topics and eager to actively shape the future of HR. You are able to connect the employee perspective with the strategic objectives of the business.
• Analytical and Conceptual Skills: You can analyze complex issues in a structured manner, work confidently with data, identify key relationships and patterns, and translate your findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Consulting and Communication Skills: You communicate findings clearly and tailor your messages to different audiences. You are skilled at bringing together diverse perspectives and engaging confidently and persuasively with stakeholders.
• Employee‑Centric Mindset: A passionate team player who is motivated to create outstanding employee experiences. You're eager to contribute your skills across areas such as strategy, data, analytics, and beyond.
• Relevant HR Experience: Through internships, working‑student positions, or initial professional experience, you have gained exposure to strategy, consulting, or Human Resources. Ideally, you have already contributed to challenging and dynamic HR projects.
• Understanding of Corporate Strategy: You understand how HR can contribute to achieving business objectives and are interested in translating strategic decisions into action within a complex organization.
• Intercultural Competence: The international character of our Start up! community is one of its defining strengths. Strong intercultural skills are therefore essential. International experience – whether through studying abroad, work and travel, or comparable experiences – is a must (at least 3 months).
• Commitment and Entrepreneurial Spirit: As a Start up! trainee, you are passionate about driving change and taking initiative. Experience in social engagement and/or entrepreneurial projects is therefore highly valued.
• Language Skills: You have excellent written and spoken German and English skills at C1 level.
