Berlin Teilzeit Kein Homeoffice möglich

Team: Events & Community

Location: Berlin-based, No52 Pavillon (Karuna Pavillon), Boxhagener Platz, Friedrichshain, Berlin

Type: Volunteer (unpaid)

Commitment: 8 hours / week

Role Overview

The Volunteer Event Host is the creative force behind For Everyone's community event programme at the No52 Pavillon at Boxhagener Platz. Sitting within the Events & Community team, this role is your chance to design, promote, and host your own creative event formats — from sofa concerts and open mic nights to film screenings, workshops, and storytelling evenings.

The goal is to create a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere where people feel connected and inspired. You will be fully responsible for the execution of your event on the day itself, including set-up, hosting, and clean-up. You won't be alone — our Event Management Lead and weekly team exchange provide ongoing support — but we are looking for someone proactive, who takes ownership and makes things happen without waiting to be told.

You will be expected to organise and lead at least one event every two weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the Event Concept: conduct a needs assessment to understand what creative events best suit the location and community

  • Plan the Event: organise the timeline, define roles, and prepare all materials for a smooth experience

  • Coordinate Promotion: work with our marketing and design team on flyers and event descriptions, and share the event through your own network

  • Host the Event On Site: lead the full execution — welcoming guests, guiding the event, and managing clean-up and wrap-up

  • Build a Support Team: invite friends or fellow volunteers to help on the day, while taking the main lead and responsibility

  • Join the Weekly Team Exchange: attend the regular meeting for all event volunteers to brainstorm, align, and support each other

Examples of Events You Could Host

  • Creative & cultural evenings — open mics, small exhibitions, film nights

  • Community conversations — on belonging, identity, mental health, urban life

  • Learning & empowerment workshops — communication, creativity, wellbeing

  • Celebrations and intercultural gatherings — shared meals, seasonal rituals

Our Ticketing Model

All For Everyone events use a solidarity-based pricing model. Participants pay a small fee to help cover costs and sustain the organisation's work. Those with fewer financial means can choose a reduced ticket; others can opt for a supporter ticket. This model strengthens both commitment and accessibility without compromising quality. As Event Manager, you will be expected to understand and actively support this approach.

Required Skills

  • Experience in event management, or a strong passion for organising and hosting meaningful gatherings

  • Proactive and self-starting — excited to take initiative and run something independently

  • Reliable and consistent: available on at least one fixed evening or day per week

  • Committed to organising and hosting at least one event every two weeks

  • Comfortable creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for diverse audiences

  • Supportive of the solidarity-based ticketing model

  • Good communication skills in English — no German required

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Well connected in Berlin's cultural or creative scene, or eager to build that network

  • Experience with event promotion via social media or community channels

  • Familiarity with facilitating workshops, open discussions, or participatory formats

  • Passion for community-driven, social impact projects

Profile

You are a creative, people-centred organiser who thrives on bringing people together. You are comfortable taking full ownership of a project, making decisions on the fly, and hosting a room full of strangers. You believe in the power of culture and community, and you are genuinely excited to help build something meaningful in your neighbourhood — from the ground up.

What We Offer

  • Full creative freedom to design and host your own event formats with community support

  • Guidance from our Event Management Lead, especially in your first weeks

  • Weekly team exchange with a diverse group of fellow event volunteers — you are never alone

  • Volunteer certificate upon completion, useful for visa or job applications

  • After 6 months: eligibility for the Berlin Volunteer Card with city-wide discounts

  • Real community impact — helping build a culture of connection and inclusion in Friedrichshain
