Description and requirements
turn measurements into innovation.
We are looking for an open-minded and curious student (m/f/d) from electrical engineering who likes to bridge real lab measurements to spice simulation. We are looking for a tinkerer for hardware development tasks who wants to take on new challenges and would like to solve them.
The position is supervised by a collaboration between Hilti and University of Stuttgart (Institute of Robust Power Semiconductor Systems).
What You'll do
You will work in the electronics pre-development team in further development of our electronics in terms of digital design, by strengthen possibilities to digital build up a prototype and characterize by electromagnetic and spice simulation.
You will use your theoretical basic knowledge of electronics to identify weak points in simulation and verify them by real measurements. You will use design tools like Altium, Keysight ADS as well as practical work in the electronics laboratory using an Oscilloscope, DC-sources and measurement equipment.
You will make the invisible parasitic PCB properties visible and develop methods in electronic simulation supporting the increasing challenges with new semiconductors like GaN.
What You’ll Bring
- You are a motivated tinkerer and enthusiastic about designing, simulating and evaluating of power electronics, having good basic theoretical knowledge and ideally already experience in the electronics laboratory as well as simulation.
• Studies in the field of electronic engineering / embedded systems and experience in at least one of the following fields.
• Experience in electronic circuit design
• Experience in electronics laboratory measurements
• Experience in spice and electromagnetic simulation using Keysight ADS
• Prior knowledge of file version management (e.g. Git) desirable
• Independent working style
• Good knowledge of English
What’s In It for You
We offer you a unique place to work, in which you are part of a creative and interdisciplinary team. We will give you a lot of responsibility to develop yourself and we´ll support you in shaping your individual career path.
In addition, we offer you innovative benefits, such as fitness and health programs.
