The Criminal Division is responsible for combating crime in the Canton of Bern. It deals with serious crime, is responsible for cases of supra-regional significance, and for offences requiring specialised professional and technical knowledge. As the driving force behind criminal police work, it sets priorities, shapes the professional direction, and is a sought-after partner for the judiciary and police authorities both domestically and abroad. Your tasks
Personnel, strategic and operational management of the Criminal Division with around 400 employees – together with the directly subordinate management
Advising the commander and the corps leadership on all matters within their area of responsibility
Ensuring the further development of the division
Leading company-wide projects
Budgeting and procurement of technical equipment
Active participation in various commissions
Close cooperation with the public prosecutor's office, criminal divisions of other cantons, and the Federal Criminal Police
Your profile
Extremely resilient, communicative and trustworthy personality with persuasiveness, teamwork skills and assertiveness
University degree as a lawyer or higher professional examination as a police officer
Several years of experience in the criminal police field, in operational and business management as well as in project management
Successful, long-standing leadership career
Ability to bring together different concerns of various stakeholders and to successfully initiate and implement projects
Very good knowledge of German and French
Strong networking skills and confidence in a challenging environment
Efficient working style
