Head of Building Control
A true reference in building control, you support projects from their conception to their completion and actively contribute to the harmonious development of a municipality undergoing transformation. At the crossroads of technical, regulatory and human issues, you play a key role with authorities, professionals and citizens. Integrated within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you benefit from a working environment that encourages skills exchange, collaboration and pooling of expertise in the service of varied and stimulating projects.
Main responsibilities
- Ensure the complete management of construction files, from project analysis to the issuance of building, habitation and usage permits. - Advise and support owners, agents, architects and professionals in their procedures and in the application of municipal procedures. - Guarantee the legal, regulatory and technical compliance of projects submitted to the Municipality and ensure compliance with current standards. - Lead public inquiries, manage objections and conduct conciliation meetings with the various stakeholders. - Carry out on-site compliance checks, participate in health inspections and monitor construction sites until completion. - Write technical reports, recommendations, determinations, minutes and correspondence necessary for file processing. - Work closely with municipal authorities, commissions and the various actors involved in planning and construction projects. - Actively participate in the evolution and optimisation of service processes to meet the growing challenges related to territorial development. - Contribute, through your expertise and sense of public service, to the harmonious development of the municipality and the enhancement of its built heritage.
Your profile
- You have proven experience in Switzerland in managing construction files, ideally within a public administration, an architect’s or engineer’s office. - Training in the field of building, architecture, geomatics or an equivalent background is a strong asset for success in this role. - You are familiar with building control procedures as well as the Vaud legal framework. - You operate comfortably in an environment governed by demanding technical and regulatory standards. - Your analytical skills allow you to assess sometimes complex situations and make well-founded decisions. - Organised and methodical, you efficiently manage several files and priorities simultaneously. - Autonomy, rigour and initiative enable you to advance projects professionally and discerningly. - Comfortable in exchanges with citizens, agents, authorities and various service partners, you appreciate human contact and dialogue. - Your team spirit, integrity and sense of public service are recognised by your professional circle. - Faced with tight deadlines and sensitive situations, you keep your composure, know how to prioritise your tasks effectively and manage several files simultaneously with rigour and a sense of responsibility.
