THE ROLE

At LIGHT Q , cutting-edge technologies converge: ultrafast lasers, photonics, and electronics, creating next generation computing solutions. Working closely with experts in optics, lasers, integrated photonics, and ML engineering, you set up a team to control, data transmission, and signal detection electronics for analog optical prototype systems, simulate and design RF electronic and electro-optical systems in the UHF and SHF domains, and equip and maintain electronics labs. You enable translating theoretical performance at the intersection of electronics and optics into real-world systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Control & Detection Systems — Design, set up, and/or select electronic and electro-optic control and detection systems.
• Lab Operations — Operate and maintain electronic systems on a daily basis.
• Technology Exploration — Select and evaluate electronic and electro-optical components.
• Team Building — Build up an electronics team, mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and champion best-practice design methodologies.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Analog & digital electronics — You have hands‑on broad experience in analog and digital electronics and ADCs/DACs, ideally including FPGA and ASIC design and prototyping.
• Relentless curiosity — You push requirements, parameters, and methods beyond previously achieved limits, and you thrive working in international teams.
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of work experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
