Your mission
- Develop complete scientific instruments and prototypes, from initial concept through engineering design, assembly, integration and functional operation.
- Translate scientific performance requirements into engineering solutions, identifying physical constraints, technical risks and design trade-offs.
- Own the integrated engineering concept, ensuring that mechanical, fluidic, electrical, software and automation subsystems work together.
- Collaborate with scientists to evaluate system performance, interpreting experimental results, identifying engineering limitations and iteratively improving the instrument.
- Adapt and evolve existing instrumentation for new experimental applications, evaluating whether reconfiguration, substantial redesign or a new system offers the best solution.
- Work hands-on with prototypes, contributing to assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting during development and design verification.
