PCB Layout Engineer with FPGA – Erlangen, Germany

We are currently seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer with FPGA experience to join a technically focused engineering team based in Erlangen, Germany.

Role: PCB Layout Engineer with FPGA

Salary: Up to €70,000

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex PCB layouts for electronic and embedded systems.
• Translate electrical schematics into accurate and production-ready PCB layouts.
• Work closely with hardware and FPGA engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support the integration of FPGA components into PCB designs.
• Ensure PCB designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform design reviews and identify potential layout or signal integrity issues.
• Apply appropriate design rules for high-speed, analogue and digital circuitry.
• Support prototype development, testing and debugging of electronic hardware.
• Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve PCB production and assembly issues.
• Maintain accurate PCB design documentation and technical specifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in PCB design processes and standards.

About You

We are looking for an experienced PCB Layout Engineer with a strong understanding of electronic hardware design and practical experience working with FPGA-based systems.

You should have experience with professional PCB design tools and a good understanding of PCB layout, signal integrity, component placement, routing and manufacturing requirements.

Experience working with high-speed digital designs and FPGA-based hardware would be highly advantageous.

English language skills are required. German is advantageous but not essential.
