Are you an experienced Optical, Photonics or Laser Engineer based in or around Gräfelfing/Munich?
We are looking for a technically strong engineer to join an innovative team working on advanced laser and optical systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in laser technology, optics, photonics or related engineering disciplines who wants to work on challenging, high-precision technology.
The Role
You will be involved in the development, testing, optimisation and integration of sophisticated optical and laser systems.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Designing, developing and testing optical and laser systems.
- Working with laser sources, optical components and optomechanical systems.
- Building and characterising experimental and prototype systems.
- Performing optical measurements, testing and system qualification.
- Analysing technical problems and developing practical solutions.
- Supporting the transition of prototypes into reliable production systems.
- Working closely with R&D, electronics, software, mechanical engineering and production teams.
- Documenting technical work, test results and system performance.
- Contributing ideas to improve the performance, reliability and manufacturability of laser and optical products.
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Optical engineering
- Photonics
- Optical system development
- Optical measurement and characterisation
- Optomechanics
A degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Laser Technology or a related technical discipline would be highly advantageous.
Hands-on engineering experience is particularly important. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with real optical and laser systems rather than purely theoretical work.
- Proven professional experience in optics, lasers, photonics or a closely related engineering field.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Excellent technical communication skills.
- Currently living in Gräfelfing, Munich or the surrounding local area.
- Willingness to work on-site in Gräfelfing.
