Power Electronics Engineer – Energy / Grid / HVDCLocation: Bavaria, GermanyEmployment: Permanent / Full-timeWe are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join an innovative engineering team working on next-generation energy, grid and HVDC technologies.This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-power converter systems that support the transition towards a more efficient, resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure.The RoleAs a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be involved in the development, design and optimisation of advanced power conversion systems, from concept through to validation and industrialisation.Your responsibilities may include:Designing and developing high-power converters and medium-voltage (MV) converter systemsDeveloping grid-connected inverters and power conversion architecturesWorking on DC/DC converters and high-power conversion topologiesSupporting HVDC and grid integration projectsSelecting, evaluating and applying IGBT and SiC semiconductor technologiesPerforming electrical, thermal and system-level analysis and simulationsDeveloping and reviewing converter control strategiesSupporting prototype development, testing and validationWorking closely with hardware, control, software, systems and mechanical engineering teamsContributing to technical documentation, design reviews and product qualificationYou will ideally have:A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or a related disciplineProfessional experience in power electronics developmentExperience with high-power converters, MV systems, grid inverters, HVDC or DC/DC convertersStrong understanding of power semiconductor technologies, particularly IGBT and/or SiCKnowledge of converter topologies, switching technologies, magnetics and power semiconductor applicationsExperience with simulation and engineering tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink or similarAn analytical and hands-on approach to engineering and problem solvingStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teamsInterested?If you are a Power Electronics Engineer looking to work on challenging high-power and grid-connected technologies, we would be interested in hearing from you.Apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
