About Our Client
Our client is an expanding service company with a demonstrated roll-out strategy, led by ex-PE professionals turned entrepreneurs and backed by experienced institutional investors. The company has quadrupled in size and expects to do so again, operating in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly.
They are currently seeking a Head of M&A to develop an aggressive pipeline and execute M&A bilateral deals in Europe. Deal sizes will range from EUR 10m to EUR 150m, with a target to deploy a minimum of EUR 500m in 5 years. The company has already acquired 10 targets in the last 4 years.
What the Job Involves
- Reporting to the founders of the business (ex-PE professionals)
- Developing a strong knowledge of the industry in Europe
- Building and developing a strong pipeline
- Ownership of full buy-side due diligence (bilateral deals, with a very hands-on approach)
- Executing on deals, including SPA negotiation
- Leading the post-closing and integration of the acquired companies
- Leading further development opportunities (e.g., new site expansion, mergers)
Who We Are Looking For
- Professional experience in sourcing and executing bilateral deals in Europe in small- or mid-cap environments
- Track record of building a bilateral pipeline and executing on bilateral transactions (from sourcing, full due diligence, SPA negotiation, financing, closing, and integration)
- Human and humble approach when interacting with entrepreneurs/founders
- Hands-on approach, self-starting mentality, and motivation to learn a new industry inside-out
- Experience in the services sector and experience within a small-/mid-cap PE firm executing regular deals is essential
- Ability to switch from a strategic and commercially minded approach to drilling deep into details and technical aspects of a deal
- Results-driven and goal-oriented
- Analytical thinking and data-driven approach
- Modern, inclusive, and empathetic leadership style
- A combination of outstanding analytics with persuasive communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in English, Spanish, and Italian ideally; any additional European language is welcome
