Role Overview
You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement to increase operation, availability, and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption are also important. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential within the new Enterprise Cloud Services program. Your role will be that of a Technology Senior Consultant as part of the Center of Excellence Teams comprising of Database Experts administering Databases, driving critical topics related to Incident Management, Problem Management, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore among other operational tasks. The primary location is Dresden, but we are also hiring in St. Leon Rot.
What you’ll do
- Monitor and manage the database landscape in large-scale productive environments.
- Possess good knowledge of policy, workflow, group, and clients for configuring the backup.
- Ensure data integrity aspects and determine the most suitable recovery technique.
- Effectively and accurately handle data recovery scenarios.
- Have a clear understanding of Point-In-Time (PIT) and full recovery techniques.
- Handle incidents around critical systems and be able to failover & failback as needed.
What you bring
- Strong conceptual understanding & knowledge of RDBMS products in the market.
- Around 12+ years of work experience as a Database Administrator in a Global Operations team (primarily on SAP HANA and ASE Database Platforms, however any database technology is welcome).
- Exposure to automation tools/scripting or processes.
- Experience with DB installations and upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation.
- Provide technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning systems for performance optimization.
- Knowledge of security, backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, system copies, high availability, and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication is a must.
- Willingness to work on-call duty (weekends and public holidays) on a rotational basis during business hours.
