We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our growing European operation.
This position provides a unique opportunity to lead mechanical and piping engineering activities across major studies and project delivery phases, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
As the Senior Mechanical Piping Engineer, you will:
- Lead mechanical and piping design activities from concept through to commissioning and operational readiness.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, work packs, and detailed engineering documentation.
- Develop and review plant layouts, pumping systems, piping networks, and material handling systems.
- Prepare and review PFDs and P&IDs and coordinate design interfaces across disciplines.
- Support feasibility studies, detailed engineering, procurement, construction support, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate vendor engagement, equipment package development, bid evaluations, and technical assessments.
- Provide field engineering support to construction and commissioning teams.
- Lead small project teams and provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to engineers and designers.
- Utilise engineering analysis tools to evaluate and optimise mechanical system performance.
- Support business development activities, proposals, and client engagement initiatives.
You bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within engineering design and project delivery environments.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical and piping design for industrial or minerals processing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of industrial plant layouts, pumping systems, material handling equipment, and piping infrastructure.
- Experience reviewing and developing PFDs and P&IDs.
- Exposure to procurement support, vendor management, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams in a consultancy environment.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis software and design tools.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capability.
- Knowledge of German engineering standards and regulations.
- Professional proficiency in German and English.
