Mechanical Development Engineer – UAV / Robotics
Konstanz, Germany | On-site
Need Drone/UAV experience
I’m working with a fast-growing defence robotics company developing complete UAV systems for military, security and emergency-response applications.
This position requires more than strong CAD or component-level design experience. We are looking for a hands‑on mechanical engineer who understands how a complete drone or robotic system works.
You should have practical experience with:
- Developing UAVs, drones, mobile robots or similarly complex mechatronic products
- Taking hardware from initial concept and CAD through prototyping, testing and production
- Understanding multicopter fundamentals, including propulsion, stability, control and motor-failure implications
- Selecting or integrating motors, propellers, ESCs, batteries, actuators and payloads
- Integrating electronics, sensors, cameras, wiring and mechanical structures
- Working with weight, centre of gravity, vibration, thermal management and environmental constraints
- Building, assembling, testing and troubleshooting physical prototypes
- Working directly with suppliers and production teams to deliver manufacturable hardware
- Making practical engineering decisions within a fast‑moving startup environment
Professional UAV experience is highly desirable. Candidates from robotics, motorsport or other high-speed mechatronic environments will also be considered if they can demonstrate strong complete-system knowledge.
