Logistics Manager (m/f/d) offering a Competitive Salary
Our client, is looking for a Logistics Manager to run complex heavy-haulage transports for infrastructure projects across Germany.
Your responsibilities
- Own the on-time transport of heavy cable drums, often tens of tonnes each, plus accessories, tools and materials, through to the construction site
- Act as the central contact between customers, suppliers, hauliers and other project partners on all logistics matters
- Plan and assess transport routes, including any required escort or support measures, and manage and oversee subcontractors
- Review and improve permit documentation for abnormal and heavy loads (VEMAGS)
- Work closely with the international group headquarters
- Develop logistics concepts, transport plans and supporting documentation
- Keep thorough records of processes, guidelines and changes
- Hold budget responsibility and control costs across logistics
- Check goods for quality and quantity, and oversee loading
- Give clear instructions to logistics providers on loads and delivery locations to prevent transport damage
- Coordinate safe interim storage of the cables
Your profile
- Solid know-how in shipping, freight handling and customs processes
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP
- Confident working with hauliers, freight costing and transport coordination
- Basic Excel skills
- Analytical thinking and a solution-focused approach
- A plus: experience with MS Project or similar tools
- Heavy road transportation experience and road planning experience.
