Senior Software Developer - Mobility & Traffic Analytics

In this role, you’ll contribute to a real-time data platform for traffic insights, processing large-scale streaming data. You’ll work on production systems with real-world impact, collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders in a low-bureaucracy, generalist environment.

What you will do:

• Design, build, and operate components of a real-time data platform (streaming pipelines, backend services, data products)
• Take ownership of well-defined services or components, including reliability, performance, and data quality
• Contribute across the stack (backend systems, data pipelines, domain-specific components)
• Collaborate with product and domain stakeholders to implement pragmatic technical solutions
• Contribute to engineering practices (testing, code reviews, incident learnings, delivery)

• Experience building production-grade software systems (typically 4–6+ years)
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java/Scala
• Experience with distributed systems (APIs, scalable services, async processing)
• Hands-on experience with streaming/data systems (e.g., Kafka, Flink)
• Solid approach to code quality, testing, and maintainability
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams with engineers and stakeholders
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and trade-offs clearly in English and German

Nice to have

• Data correctness patterns (schemas/contracts, idempotency, backfills)
• Cloud-native environments (containers, orchestration, IaC)
• Mobility, geospatial, or regulated domain experience
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools
• Exposure to MLOps or data-driven systems in production

Compensation Range: €76,860 – €90,653 total compensation (including bonuses), with room to grow as you and the company develop, subject to annual adjustments in line with inflation rate.
