Overview
As a DBA at Avaloq, you will own the administration and evolution of enterprise databases, focusing on Oracle as the primary technology while supporting other platforms. You will drive migrations, cloud transitions, and high-availability setups to keep critical applications running. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Administer Oracle Database environments (installation, configuration, patches, upgrades, lifecycle management)
- Support additional databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL)
- Lead and coordinate database migration projects (cross-version upgrades, platform and cloud migrations)
- Plan migrations from on-premise to cloud services (OCI, AWS, Azure)
- Ensure data consistency and minimal disruption across heterogeneous migrations
- Implement high-availability and disaster recovery (Data Guard, RAC, equivalents)
- Define backup, restore and recovery procedures across systems
- Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and resource utilization
- Troubleshoot incidents and performance bottlenecks; collaborate with infra and app teams
- Produce documentation, operational procedures, migration plans, and handover material
- Contribute to automation and standardization for provisioning, patching, deployment
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 4+ years as Database Administrator with strong Oracle focus
- Hands-on Oracle DB administration in enterprise environments
- Knowledge of at least one other DB technology (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with database migration activities (upgrades, platform changes, cloud migrations)
- Strong backup and recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery knowledge
- Performance tuning, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting complex DB issues
- Linux/Unix experience and scripting for automation
- Database security, access control, and auditing familiarity
- Ability to work in project-based settings and coordinate with stakeholders
