Wir unterstützt /unterstützen Mandanten bei komplexen Patent- und SPC-Streitigkeiten, einschließlich Rechtsstreitigkeiten in unterschiedlichen Gerichtsbarkeiten zwischen großen Wissenschafts- und Technologieunternehmen. Unsere Kanzlei deckt ein breites Spektrum an Fachgebieten ab, darunter Life Sciences, Chemie, Mechanik und Technik.
Das Team Ist / Wir Sind Bekannt Für
- UK-Rechtsstreitigkeiten - Durchsetzungs- und Rechtsbestandsverfahren vor britischen Gerichten und Patentämtern, einschließlich prominenter Fälle vor dem Supreme Court, Court of Appeal und High Court.
- Europäische und weltweite Koordination – Mandantenberatung in grenzüberschreitenden europäischen Angelegenheiten mit erheblichen internationalen Komponenten.
- Das Unified Patent Court (UPC) – wir zählen mehr als 70 qualifizierte Vertreter vor dem UPC. Wir reichten die erste Nichtigkeitsklage ein und vertraten die erste Berufungsklägerin in der ersten Anhörung vor dem Berufungsgericht des UPC.
- Einsprüche vor dem Europäischen Patentamt - Einreichung von und Verteidigung gegen Einsprüchen beim Europäischen Patentamt im Rahmen wirtschaftlich wichtiger Patente.
Als Anwaltsassistent*in sind Sie für die professionelle Unterstützung des Kerngeschäfts der Mitarbeitenden im Münchener Büro verantwortlich. Sie übernehmen eine Vielzahl von Verwaltungsaufgaben und werden bei Bedarf mit Carpmaels Associates in München und London zusammenarbeiten.
Ihre Aufgaben
- Hauptansprechpartner*in für die Anwälte*innen
- Posteingangsverwaltung nach Bedarf
- Termin- und Besprechungskoordination (Raumbuchung und Organisation, bei Bedarf Kontaktaufnahme mit dem internen Team)
- Reiseorganisation mittels unseres Reisebüros
- Erstellung, Bearbeitung und Einreichung von fehlerfreien und qualitativ hochwertigen Schriftsätzen unter anderem auch für das Deutsche Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA)
- Participation au processus de facturation Unterstützung bei der Rechnungsausstellung
- Unterstützung der Marketing & Business Development Abteilung bei:
- Geschäftsreisen, Pitches und Präsentationen
- Eventorganisation
- Kontaktdatenbankpflegung – Zusammenarbeit mit Kollegen zur regelmäßigen Prüfung ihrer Kontakte
- Büro- und Empfangstätigkeit:
- Sie sind die erste Anlaufstelle für das Münchener Büro sowie unsere Mandanten
- Unterstützung bei der Durchführung interner und externer Veranstaltungen, ggf. Auftreten als Ansprechpartner gegenüber Gästen
- Möglichkeit, sich beim Wachstum der Kanzlei in größerem Umfang in der Verwaltung zu engagieren
- Sonstige Verwaltungsaufgaben je nach Bedarf
Das bringen Sie mit
- Sicherer Umgang mit MS-Office-Anwendungen
- Berufserfahrung in einer Patent- oder Rechtsanwaltskanzlei
- Erfahrung mit „DPMADirektPro“ ist gewünscht
- Sehr gute Englisch- und Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
- Teamfähigkeit

The role
Our Munich office is growing at an ever-increasing rate, based on our renowned contentious practice and our expanding prosecution work.
The contentious practice assists clients with complex patent and SPC disputes involving multijurisdictional litigation between major science and technology companies. The practice covers a broad range of disciplines including life sciences, chemistry and engineering and tech.
The Team Is Well Known For
- UK litigation - enforcement and revocation litigation before the UK courts and IP offices, including high‑profile cases before the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court.
- European and ROW coordination - advising clients on matters that cross European borders with significant international components.
- The UPC - we have more than 70 qualified UPC representatives. We filed the first UPC revocation and represented the first ever appellant in the first hearing at the UPC Court of Appeal.
- EPO oppositions - filing and defending against oppositions at the European Patent Office on commercially important patents.
As a Legal Assistant you will be responsible for providing professional core business support to allocated attorneys based in the Munich office. You will undertake a broad range of administration duties and will be required to liaise with Carpmaels Associates in Munich and London when necessary.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Primary point of contact for Fee Earners
- Inbox management as required
- Diary management including scheduling meetings/hearings (in person and virtual), arranging all logistics (booking rooms, arranging refreshments, liaising with the internal team as necessary)
- Organising travel via our travel management company
- Creating, amending and filing court documents - among others with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), ensuring completed documents are delivered accurately and to a consistently high standard
- Assisting in the billing process
- Assisting the Marketing & Business Development department to:
- Help prepare business development travel, pitches and presentations
- Organise events
- Update the contact database – liaising with colleagues to regularly review their contacts
- Office administration and front of house liaison duties:
- Acting as the first point of support at the Munich office
- Help execute internal and external events, in some instances being front of house for guests
- Possibility to get involved with wider administrative support, particularly as the Firm expands
- Any other administrative tasks as required
Experience We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office
- Experience as a Legal Assistant within a law firm Litigation department and/or a law firm patent prosecution department
- Ideally with experience using the DPMADirektPro software
- Fluent in English and German (written and verbal communication)
- Team player
- Diligent and thorough
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail, including spotting incorrect/incomplete information
- Willingness to learn new skills
