COUNTRY HR MANAGER — GERMANY
Location: Darmstadt, Germany | Flexible Working | Highly Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits + Career Enhancement
Mindray is one of the fastest-growing medical technology companies in the world, a business that develops the patient monitors, medical diagnostic systems, and imaging technology that clinicians rely on in the moments that matter most. With products now reaching healthcare providers in over 190 countries and a workforce of more than 22,000 people worldwide, we've built our reputation on a simple but ambitious mission: to make advanced healthcare technology accessible to more of humanity, faster than anyone thought possible.
Germany is one of Mindray Europe's most important growth markets, and right now it needs someone to own its people agenda outright. We're looking for a Country HR Manager to be the single point of accountability for HR across our German business (roughly 100 people, one Works Council relationship to master, and an open field to build a function that matches the ambition of the business around it).
Why this role is different
- Full ownership, not a supporting role. You will be the sole senior HR voice for Germany, reporting to the HR Director Europe with a dotted line to the GM Germany
- Real influence, from day one. You'll sit alongside senior stakeholders and shape decisions on performance, talent, employee relations, and comp & benefits
- A market that's actually moving. Germany is a priority growth territory for Mindray Europe, selling directly to end customers and through distribution partners, with genuine headroom to take market share from the competition.
- Works Council expertise, valued and put to work. If you've built your career mastering German co-determination and Betriebsrat relationships, this is where that skill becomes central to the business's success.
- A seat in the bigger European story. Beyond Germany, you'll help drive Mindray's European HR agenda and contribute strategic insight directly to the Germany and European leadership team.
What you'll be doing
- Partnering with leaders to build the organizational capabilities, structures, and behaviours Germany needs to keep growing.
- Leading Works Council management and employee relations with genuine authority and credibility.
- Driving performance culture — translating strategic goals into outcomes that show up in the numbers.
- Shaping talent and workforce planning so the business never runs short of the capability it needs next.
- Coaching and developing management teams, and building feedback mechanisms that actually improve the employee experience.
- Rolling out European HR projects and initiatives locally, and partnering with our EU & global HR Team on key initiatives.
- Bringing data-driven insight and recommendations to senior leadership — not just reporting, but shaping direction.
What you bring
- Proven, hands-on Works Council management experience in Germany — this is essential.
- A track record across performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and change management, ideally within a multinational business as part of a Regional HR team.
- Fluency in German and English, spoken and written.
- A Bachelor's degree as a baseline, backed by real commercial HR credibility.
- The confidence to be the sole senior HR presence in a market (you will have an HR person reporting to you also), balanced with strong collaboration across a European team.
- Sharp analytical instincts — comfortable turning data into a story and a story into a recommendation.
- Project management discipline and a genuine appetite for building something, not just maintaining it.
Why Mindray
Mindray invests roughly 10% of annual revenue back into R&D across eight global research centres — because we compete on innovation, not just scale. We operate across Patient Monitoring & Life Support, In-Vitro Diagnostics, and Medical Imaging, and our technology is inside hospitals and clinics on almost every continent. We're proud of a culture built around our values: align with our customers, value and enrich our people, be precise and practical, and always forge ahead.
For our people, that translates into real investment in growth — Mindray describes itself as aiming to be a 'lifelong university' for its employees, with development pathways, cross-border exposure, and a genuinely international, diverse team spanning 30+ countries. Joining now means joining a company still writing its growth story, in a market where you'll help write Germany's chapter of it.
This is a role for someone who wants more than a job description — who wants to build the function, shape the culture, and be the name people think of when they think 'HR in Germany.' If that's you, we want to hear from you.
