Job Summary

As a MSAT Laboratory Scientist, you will play a fundamental role in supporting the laboratory operations within the MSAT lab at WuXi Biologics Germany. The Scientist ensures all laboratory processes and procedures are executed efficiently, accurately, and in strict accordance with established protocols.

As a bioharmaceutical Laboratory Scientist, you will be at the forefront of scientific and medical advancements, contributing significantly to the development of life-saving drugs. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, rigorous compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and meticulous attention to operational detail, making you an essential asset to our MSAT team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducting experiments and assays related to mammalian cell culture, protein purification, and associated activities, following standard protocols and work instructions.
• Accurately document experimental data, observations, and results in compliance with quality standards, including Good Documentation Practice.
• Collect, handle, and analyze biological samples with precision.
• Ensuring strict adherence to laboratory safety guidelines and regulatory compliance.
• Maintaining inventory control of laboratory supplies, reagents and consumables.
• Prepare, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, including troubleshooting as necessary.
• Support scientists during technology transfer and process validation activities.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware and instruments by specialized equipment such as washers and autoclaves.
• Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S lab organization and updates of lab documents.

Person Specification

1. 1. Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant industry experience in cell culture and/or upstream bioprocessing using bioreactors (3L to 250L scale).
• Experience working within a biotechnological laboratory environment.
• Familiar with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in experimental data recording.
• Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
• Proficiency in operating standard laboratory equipment and instruments. Ability to follow detailed experimental protocols and work instructions consistently.
• Physical capability to stand for prolonged periods and handle laboratory materials safely.
• Good time management skills and flexibility to adapt as needed.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.

2. Qualifications

• Apprenticeship (Ausbildung) as Biologic Technical Assistent and/or Biologic Lab Engineer/Scientist, or a equivalent qualification with at least 2 years’ relevant experience in a biotechnological environment.
• Alternatively, Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline with relevant practical experience.
• Competent English language skills, demonstrating the ability to understand, communicate, and document complex scientific information clearly and accurately.
