Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer at RIVR, you own the mechanical architecture for power distribution and control systems, delivering lightweight, robust enclosures and harnesses for high-volume production. You bridge mechanical and electrical teams to ensure safe, sealed, and well-packaged electronics suitable for real-world robot delivery. You will tackle thermal, sealing, EMI, and vibration challenges, using analysis to guide design and validation. Your work supports scalable manufacturing and reliable autonomous platforms that enable next‑gen doorstep delivery. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Own the design of electronic enclosures for power boards and computational units from concept to mass production
- Solve mechanical challenges: thermal management, sealing, EMI, shock and vibration
- Perform design analyses (thermal, CFD, structural/FEA) and define test plans with the testing team
- Create 2D drawings and documentation for manufacturing handover
- Ensure manufacturability and lead DFA/DFM discussions with suppliers and manufacturing
- Coordinate with electrical engineering to ensure integrated harnesses and wiring routes
- Develop and validate prototypes and drive root cause analysis with mitigations
- Prepare for high-volume production including material selection and process technologies
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 6+ years of hands-on experience designing electro-mechanical assemblies and wire harnesses for moving platforms
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA) and validation tools (Ansys, COMSOL)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles (heat transfer, structural design, materials, fluids) and GD&T
- Experience bringing prototypes to mass production using processes like die casting, injection molding, compression molding, etc.
- Knowledge of electronic enclosure materials, gaskets, grommets, and thermal management
- Experience developing test plans and conducting root cause analyses
- Collaborative cross-functional communication
- Problem-solving and pragmatic decision-making
- Attention to detail and thorough documentation
